Photos of Wedding Photographers Practicing Their Craft

I like shooting pics of other photographers in the middle of their work. Photographers are mostly unseen, as they're seldom in the pictures they shoot. Nobody ever photographs the photographer. As the family photog, I'm in 2% of all photos. I captured this sequence of wedding photographers/videographers working on the beach in Aptos last weekend. They appeared on the beach in a flurry, along with their subjects, did a 10 minute walking shoot, and disappeared just as they came.

Stuff in my Office

Meridian desktop phone. Perhaps a leading edge device at one point, but seriously behind today, especially compared to wireless phones. When will we abandon desktop phones?

Photos from a quick beach getaway to Seascape

We avoided the fog and had a great day and a half at the beach.  The kids dug holes in the sand deep enough to stand in, we got treated to a great sunset and saw a dead baby shark washed up on the beach.

The Beach at Seascape

Finally at the beach for a quick getaway. Took a little detour to the emergency room on the way, just to see what it's like in Santa Cruz, but everyone is OK, and we're glad to finally be here.

Stuff in my Office

Vintage roadmap of Nevada, depicting Elephant Rock in the Valley of Fire, and branded with Chevron Supreme gasoline and RPM motor oil. This map was sent to me by an enterprising vendor who used it as a cold call ice breaker. He didn't get the sale, but it's been the best of its kind in terms of getting my attention and being relevant to me.

Stuff in my Office

I'm starting a photo series about stuff in my office. People's offices are an expression of themselves. Here's what I've been collecting:

Gorgon Project goodie bag with press kit from final investment decision, circa 2009.

Photos from BlogWell Chicago

Just got back from Chicago, where I spoke on behalf of Chevron at BlogWell: How Big Brands Use Social Media.  The meeting was out in Oak Brook, in the Western suburbs, at McDonald's Hamburger University.  It was my first time visiting HU, and it was not disappointing.  The McDonald's campus is beautiful, nicer than Chevron's San Ramon spread, and included some great historical memorabilia as well as some interesting architecture.  I liked West McNugget Row as an address inside one of the buildings as well as the Ray Kroc Office Exhibit.
