[Video] Frontier Barber Shop – Danville, California

The Frontier Barber Shop has served customers in Danville, CA since 1949. Generations have enjoyed its cozy feel and hometown charm. Mike and Fred have been barbers since the 1960s, and they share stories and history of the shop.

Filming and producing this video was a labor of love and a fantastic learning experience. The shop is tiny, filled with mirrors and lit with an odd mix of natural, neon and fluorescent light. Mike and Fred are masters with electric clippers, which are constantly buzzing. It was definitely a challenging place to shoot and record interviews.

The video was shot with a Canon 60D DSLR and GoPro Hero2 in 1080p HD. It was edited and color graded in Final Cut Pro X.

Hope you enjoy it!
