I’m Mad as Hell…

…and I’m not Going to Take it Anymore

Murdering children with assault weapons is not acceptable in a civilized world. I’m taking action to demand change. You should, too.

I’ve written letters to my senators, congressman, and to President Obama. If there’s anyone else you think I should writing, let me know.

My Letter to Elected Officials

Here’s my letter. Please feel free to use it in any way to contact your own elected officials.

My name is Robert Raines. I’m married and have two children, and I live in California. I vote in every election, and I care greatly about what is happening in our great state and in our great country.

I am deeply upset about what has happened in Newtown, Connecticut. It is beyond comprehension to me as a parent and a citizen of this country. While I believe in our Constitution, I do not believe that people in this country need assault weapons. We cannot continue to allow these sorts of weapons to be available in society. They fall into the wrong hands, and the result is what we’ve just seen in Connecticut.

I demand action from my government representatives to prevent this sort of crime from ever happening again. Assault weapons must be banned. High-count magazines must be banned. Politics as usual are no longer acceptable on this issue. What action will you take to move this country toward a place that removes these types of weapons from this country?

Six-year old children should not be murdered under any circumstance. Our nation is better than this. If this horrible event cannot galvanize our nation into banning this type of weapon, then we have no hope of ever fixing any other meaningful problem in this country. Please don’t let that happen.
